I've already got a member's area...

My site is in ASP, and my site works on a SQL database. I have a simple registration that needs a username, password, and email address, much like vBulletin.

Is it possible to have my users who register on to the site automatically registered to the forums? I know nothing of PHP, but I don't want people to have to register twice on my site, if you catch my drift!

I am sure it would be possible to do so with some hacking and integration with the 2 scripts, although by default, this is not possible.

if you download the hack which allows "protection of non-vb pages", you can do the registring and managing of the profile via vBulletin,
one tiny problem: you will have to rewrite your site into php,
or you could try to use the vb database by connecting with asp to the database

Dexter, please go to this page and enter your username, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)
Thank you.

1 question. Why does everyone have to go to that link to verify with just a simple question? Personally I don't have an illegal copy of VBulletin and I plan on getting the "Owned" License very soon. Once I get that and go through that link, how many more times will I have to do that?

Xenon 08-10-2002 12:41 PM

If you don't have an illegal copy of vb, why don't you go to that page and show us that you aren't using an illegal copy?

You have to enter your username there just once, as long as you have a valid licence no one of us will ask you again.

And why you should go there? This is an official supportboard for vbulletin, and just valid licenceowners will get support

When I said "Personally I don't have an illegal copy of VBulletin and I plan on getting the "Owned" License very soon" that meant that I didn't have a legal OR illegal copy of vbulletin. I wanted to know why that link was in almost every post in the pre-sales forum when someone asks a question.

Steve Machol 08-11-2002 05:00 AM

It really shouldn't be in every post. We should only ask this when it's obvious that the person asking the question is running a vB.

To bad you put up your URL. Its nice that you took out the vbulletin copyright information. http://www.onlinepartyplan.com/Forums/

Some people these days...
