Hack for certain users in certain forums

Basically, instead of setting up certain groups for certain forums, I want to be able to setup certain users to be able to access certain forums. With a forum size of 100-200 users this should be easy to manage, I just need to know if there is a hack out there to easily do this?

that's a build in feature called access mask ;)
