post ONCE per thread

I want a hack to force users in a certain usergroup to post no more than once per thread. Threads turn into spam with some members, and we don't want to ban them.

Any ideas how to do this?

Is there a current hack for it? I'd like to limit this hack to specific forums.

Does anyone know how to make this change for 3.5? I'd really like to be able to keep people from posting more than once per thread for a specific forum.
