Newsletter management via vBulletin

I had a good idea for a hack. I don't think it has been done before, but if it has, please let me know where I can find it.

Basically it's a newsletter management system.

How it works is this:

When you register for a forum there is an option with a check box to subscribe to the sites newsletter. You could have it so there are multiple newsletters, kind of like this: (View attached image)

Then in the admin, there should be an option where you can e-mail just users subscribed to a list, or multiple lists, whatever. That way you are just e-mailing the users that are subscribed. To unsubscribe they simply change their profile in the CP by unchecking the newsletter subscription.

Anybody else think this is a good idea? I personally pay $20/Month just for a list management, and something like this would save me the money.

I would love this hack. Antoher few ideas, make it so it can have multiple newsletters and html or text. I would throw in a few bucks to have some develop this.

Considering its from vBulletin 2.0 or 2.2 and over 2 years old, i highly doubt it :)

Hm if you dont need the "User allows to get E-Mails from adminstrators" function, you can do it on an easy way: Simply change the phrases and call it newsletter. While creating an e-mail list you put in, if you want to send them to all people or only the ones, that have marked this field with yes.
