moving a database without shell access
 
ok i need to know if there is a fairly easy way to move a db without shell access
i can contact the host and have a backup sent to my ftp where i can download it
is there a way to impoort that back up to keep my database back in order? what would be the steps would i need to install vb on new site and all this then import all the stuff such as posts users user count etc? thanx for your help

I use 2 ways, this is if you do not have shell access.

Upload it through phpmyadmin, and if its too big, copy bits and paste it in, til you finished pasting all teh queries, or get the upload, back up database hack, which I believe is in teh beta forum
