Ignore search terms that are too small, common
I'm kinda surprised that this isn't how vBulletin works. Here's how I'd like to get search results to work:
A user searches for "apples love not war" On my forum, I have defined the minimum size for search terms to be four characters and the term "apples" is a common term that I have excluded from the search by adding it to the ignored word list. I'd like the results to say the following: Here are the matches to your search for "apples love not war" The following words were ignored because they were too common: apples The following words were are below the max size for search terms: not war Output all matches to "love" Can this be easily done? As opposed to telling a user that a search term is too small, I'd rather try the search anyway with any remaining terms. If not, return no matches found with the above info. Paul |
