Prevent users seeing the delete post box when editing a post?
 

Hi

I don't allow members to delete their posts, only edit them. Moderators and Admin can delete posts.

How can I remove the box to delete posts from the editpost template when a user edits a post, but have the box show when a moderator or admin edits a post?

Is this just a simple template mod, or do I have to edit the editpost.php file?

If I need to hack the php file, what do I need to do?

Excuse me but doesnt that delete box automatically removed if you disable usergroup's "Can delete own threads" and "Can delete own posts" rights via Admin CP? I think it is.. :rolleyes:

That's what I thought, but when I checked (using a test member account) I can see the delete post box, but clicking on the button brings up an error page saying "You do not have permission to access this page."

There is use for this hack ... don't kill it yet. For those using the PM Users upon Thread Deletion hack, this is a quite usefull since it hides that hack too ... ya just have to modify your template and add that hack template to yours.

With the two combine, this is a very good hack!
