Ultimate quote and who's online questions
Help!
When one of my members, who is not in any private forums, looks at the who's online page, they can see the name of threads users in a private forum are viewing. How can I fix this problem? Just in case I can't fix that, I have installed the who's online stealth hack and that has protected the admins and supermods. But I would like to protect one other usergroup. How can I do this? If I can't protect another usergroup, I would like to open up the Ultimate Quote list page to all users, even if they can't see the Who's Online page. How can I do that? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just not getting answers elsewhere. Thanks for your time! |
Wooo hoooo! I have figured out the who's online problem. Apparently is is a vbulletin bug.
If your private forums are inheriting their permissions from a parent forum, then the thread titles will show up in who's online -- though unauthorized users will not be able to access the thread. To fix the problem, simply use custom permission settings on each of your private forums. I did this on my board and tested it. It worked! Needless to say, I am quite happy. *doing a happy dance* I found this information at the vbulletin.com forum in this thread: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ghlight=online |
