How To Import Users From A File?
 

I'm just about done hacking my new board into it's final form (http://www.npug.org/forum/) and now it's time to add the users. For the past 3 years, we've used an offline database and it's grown to just under 600 members. Now that we have the forum installed, I'd like to import the users into vB.

I can export the database into just about any format and I figured a simple .csv would do. However, I'm a complete noob when it comes to doing an import of data into MySQL, so I'm throwing myself at the mercy and kindness of the vb.org community to help me. :)

I figured that I need to import the basic user information, but I also need to set their join date to the date they originally joined our group and I'll also need to set a default user name and password. Again, I have no idea how to do this.

Anyone care to lend a hand in guiding me threw this, or helping me with a script?

Perhaps I should have posted this under the Requests forum. If any of the mods want to move it, please do so. Because...

I really need this done and if someone with a solid knowledge of vB can help me with this, then I'm willing to pay. I need to get the users imported and I know that I can't do it alone. :)
