password protect a private forum??
 
has anyone have an idea how to password protect a private forum?

some users on proxy servers like schools or companies can access our private forums even after logging out as mods or admins....

this is a good idea, but a simple md5 pass hash could get through. :) You might want to look ito .htaccess a forum entirely, maybe save time ^^

Does this password protect the entire forum, or just a particular message area?

You could always use access masks for each person or better yet move the people you want into the forum into another usergroup and just let that usergroup have access.
