Neverwinter Nights
 

This game has just came out, and is suppose to be incredibly fun multiplayer. I'm mainly going to buy it for Lan parties, as I'm going to one next week hooked up on this game with about 20 friends I know from school.

So, anybody else interested in the game?

Sorry, I guess I over anticipated people to know about it.

It's created by the same group that makes Baldurs Gate, Bioware, and is run on an incredible engine. It's an RPG, and plays similar to Baldurs Gate and the D&D rules, but is all live action and no turn-based battles. What makes it so different is the game creation kit that comes with it, allowing you to create your own massive worlds and very easily also, not like any other editor (such as Morrowind) that requires tons of scripting. These custom built worlds can then be played online with up to something like 85 different people in your game. I believe there is a server up for it also. Thats what I know from it right now ;)

I will admit I'm a D&D geek and am definitely looking forward to this game.

I say "looking forward" to because my current computer won't run it (Celeron 500 is just above minimum specs, but a Banshee video card isn't ;)). However, I'm building a new computer now (Athlon XP 2100+, GF4 Ti 4200) so I will be able to play it soon (today or tomorrow actually -- just need to install a few more parts).

Although, I should say I've played it for a bit at my friend's house and it seems sweet. Now, technically speaking, there are a few changes they made to the D&D 3E rules that I don't like that they didn't have to make (Toughness feat comes to mind). It's a nitpick though. :)

i was looking forward to neverwinter nights.. that is, until they decided not to release the three-way hybrid cd as planned.

and have the linux version as a patch for download that works with the files from the windows cd, and totally delay the mac version until the fall. (hence why i'm not playing it)

referring to D&D, a hobby which i just recently began playing again.. i find myself partial to 2E, even as far back as 1E rules. 3E just seems.. commercialized more. *shrug*
