An opportunity for you to make a little cash
 

I am the Category Lead for the software category at Epinions.com . One of my duties is to try to ensure that products people are interested in has reviews in the Epinions database. (This is basically a volunteer position. I am NOT an employee of Epinions)

I figure many of you are computer nuts like myself, and some of you might use these products and have something to say about them. So, I am sharing the links to 10 products on Epinions that are available for review. Epinions pay for product reviews (but not really very much. I have reviews that have only earned a few pennies, but I also have reviews that have earned over $100. The amount of money earned depends on how much revenue your review generates. The odds are that reviews on these 10 products will pay better than average, but I cannot guarantee they will actually earn anything.)

I also want to note that I am not going to make any money because you review these products. There are no referral earnings, etc. to motivate me to share these with you.

Finally, even though you probably won't make any significant money at Epinions, it is often VERY satisfying to share your likes or dislikes about computer software or hardware.

Some of you might be tempted to knock off a review even if you haven't used the product because you are hoping to strike it rich. As I stated before, there really isn't a lot of cash to be made. In addition, Epinions has a ratings system in place to ensure that only the better reviews are visible to consumers. Bogus reviews are hidden to most readers.

By the way, I am hoping to get Vbulletin in the Epinions database in the near future. I am pretty sure that this crowd would have a lot to say about that particular piece of software :)

I personally hate reviews - It is such a Personal opinion on something...It is biased to the Negative or Positive, and I usually find them deterring...

Nope. You have to own it. Every once in a while an offer for free goodies floats by for the veteran members though. As category lead, I am trying to work on getting companies to give reviewer copies to top reviewers, but that will take a while.

Also, we have a huge selection of web hosts listed. If your host sucks, you might want to tell others about it. Likewise, if your host is great, you might want to share that too. Many of you guys know computer stuff better than anyone. Sharing your knowledge can really help others :D
