Post Expiration
 

I'm looking for a forum program to use as a forum/classifieds.
I like the freedom of a forum so users can write a little more then being restricted in a classifieds program.

Can this forum expire posts automatically? By a given number of days or the option of never expire, controled by the poster.

For example, if the poster wanted there message to be displayed for four days then it would automatically be deleted or taken off the board with a message sent to the poster for renewal.

vBulletin doesn't have this option by default, but I will create a hack for this in about... 2 weeks. :)

Do you only want threads to expire, or also individual posts?

I am also considering using vbulletin as a classifieds script. I am unable to find a good php classifieds software.

It will be good if this expiration hack can send an email to the ad poster asking him to click on a link or come back to our site to renew his ad.

If he choose not to renew, then the ad will automatically be deleted.

did this ever get actioned?
