I've Got Some Questions

I am currently looking for a bulletin board. I have been looking for hack sites for several different BB's so that I know where to go when I choose which BB. I have a few questions:

1. I am a PHP programmer (which is one reason I'm considering vBB). If I want to build my own hacks, will documentation of the source code be available to me?

2. Version 3: If I may ask, what new features will added?

3. Can I completely change the look and feel of vBB. I am talking about changing the markup completely.

4. Is it relatively simple to change the markup? I know that UBB uses templates and that it is fairly easy to change the markup.

I think that's about it for now. If I can think of something else I'll add more.

1. The code is not too well document at the moment, but hopefully this will get better with vB3. But if you are a PHP programmer, you should be able to understand at least most of the code. :) And if you ever need help, you can post in one of the help forums here and get answers from fellow hackers.

2. This thread, at vBulletin.com, has a lot of information about vB3:

3-4. Yes that is possible, vBulletin also uses a template system, that lets you alter each and every piece of code that builds the forum. Check out the admin demo to see how it all works.

To expand on questions 3-4: vBulletin is much easier to customize that UBB is. vBulletin is driven by a more organized template system which makes changing things not only fast, but easy as well.

Good luck with your decision :)

You already have posted asking for a converter timo_copts, don't post it other threads.

timo_copts, to download hacks and get support you will need to go to this page and enter your email address, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)
Thank you.
