is there any need for the stars hack?

is there any need for the stars hack?

i'm asking this as star can be easily added without any hack !

you can put plain html code in the custom titles and have a stars hack =)

ex: administrator<br><img src=http://www.yourserver/images/stars/admin_stars.gif>

Is there any benefit in the star hack?

Please i'd like to know.

You get post related stars.

You can define different levels, ex 100 posts = 2 stars, 250 posts = 3 stars etc When an user reached 100 posts then his 1 star changes auto to 2 stars etc etc

Mone' 05-29-2002 12:31 PM

but you can do that with the titles from the cp and set the number of posts from there ;)

Lesane 05-29-2002 12:36 PM

Yes the titles but not the stars ;)

Mone' 05-29-2002 12:41 PM

yes but you can use html in the title bit and trasfor it title plus stars !!

you can set ulimited ammount of stars increments

for example you could make

newbie<br><img src=/img/1stars.gif> and setting it to 0 post required

member<br><img src=/img/3stars.gif> and setting it to 50 posts required

In this way you have a fully functional stars hack without needing to hack !
