Qualifiers
Not tested on 2.2.6 yet, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work... Anyway...
////////// // Info // ////////// Let's say you only got 3 usergroups (admins, mods, members) because you don't want to go through the hassle of manually upgrading members. But of yourse you want your contributing long-time users to have something new members don't... In this case, more private discussion forums. With this hack you may set qualifiers for your forums that your members need to reach in order to participate. This can be registration time, number of posts, or both. If a member qho doesn't qualify tried to access a restrited forum he gets to view the nopermission page, if he does qualify he won't notice any difference. The options are set on the forum permissions page in the Admin CP. This hack does not add any additional queries. Well, I think that's basically it... If you've got any questions, be sure to ask them here. :) Update in progress! Please wait for the next version! |
had a small look at it and se some securityproblems:
when a user knows the threadid he can see threads in this forums he shouldn't using the searchengine also gives same problem |
Nice idea as I was going to do this for my site that after someone joins the clan they have a probation period and after this time they can then view the private forums. One thing you should add is the ability to select the usergroup other than the default of members.

I just *knew* I should have released it as beta first. ;)
Oh well, thanks... I'll fix that and upload it again after that. :) |
