Temporary IP ban on banned user logout/register

I have a few users that I have banned, and the usual activity is that they'll log out and try to re-register. If there could be some way to automatically ban the IP address they were last on from registering, and then un-ban it X minutes later, I would be very, very happy.

I've seen the no logout hack, but the problem there is that a few of these people use public PC's, or try to log in at friends houses.

To recap:

Banned user logs in, sees no-permission. Logs out. Forum checks the ip, adds it to a temporary IP ban table.
User tries to register, gets the ip ban, gives up and goes away.
IP ban goes away after say, 30 minutes.

That would make me happy. :)

Have you noticed that there is vbulletin setting that you can disable registering of users who already registered? So if you enable it, they cant reregister by logging out.. Of course they can bypass this by deleting the cookies, but I think this is much more effective than temporary ip ban (which they can bypass by reconnecting to the internet or try 30 minutes later).

I also suggest you checking out HELLBAN hack too, if you havent already did. It can help you too..

Regards,

That's the point. IP ban, no need for cookie problems. If you didn't read my post fully, I stated that these people use public access PC's, such as those in libraries and schools, and I don't want them to be unable to log out, as well, I don't wish for a permanent ban. I just want an IP ban long enough for them to go away.
