PHP 4.2.1 released
<a href="http://www.php.net/release_4_2_1.php" target="_blank">http://www.php.net/release_4_2_1.php</a>
i think VB devs waited for this release to make sure VB226 is performing well under. |
While I can't speak for them I don't believe that was the case.
|
I also don't see anything in the changelog about not being able to turn register_globals on...
|
thanks for the info kevin.
lol.. i cant login anymore in VB (localhost) with PHP421. nice :) i have turned ON register_globals... same thing. |
hmm... i did a phpinfo(32) and everything is ok.
any ideas? i installed several times the binaries on my pc and i never had problems. |
man, this is the wierdest thing. i can access my admin CP but i cannot login on my main forumhome page????
EDIT: ok. i closed all browser windows and reopened the forumhome... now everything is ok. any ideas why it did that? not letting me login? i was getting the Password Recovery Form every time i was attempting to login. it got me freaked for few minutes.. especially that i accesed without any problems the admin CP. i also turned OFF the register_globals. everything is fine, except that i have a Guest on forumhome sitting like a duck. i'm getting spooky... hehe... anyway, seriously talking, what the register_gloabls affect in VB if turned OFF? thanks for the info. |
vB will stop working entirely without register_globals.
|
yes, you are right, kevin. i restarted apache. nothing works.
what do we do with the webhosts who will not turn ON the register_globals? since is OFF by default? let me quote from the php.ini file: Quote:
my RAQ is ok for now. i have PHP412 on it so i will be safe for a while. however, they plan to update the 412(patched) to 421 in about 2 months. can we expect a fix in this area related to register_globals and vBulletin? i have an owner license. |

I have PHP 4.2.1 installed along with IIS 6.0 and its working fine on my test board with the fix thats published on vB.com. |
