I started working on a contest hack, but soon found myself wanting more than my PHP/MySQL skills could deliver. This is how far I got:
http://www.mis-forums.com/vbbs/contest.php Here's what I have on my to-do list. Opt-in Only - even if the participant is a BBS member they would still have to opt-in. Bulletin board registration required for all contests, and if the participant is already a BBS member only a member name and password would be required. If not a member then the BBS registration page would be displayed. Contest Admin: Start/end dates Description of contest Contest rules (may change based on contest) Show participant post count based on contest start date Automatic random winner pick ( for contests not based on post count) Archiving of old contests so past contests and winners can be viewed. Contest Stats - show top 25 posters if contest is based on post count, if not based on post count only display name and entry date. Allow lookup on member name to show standing if not in top listing, similar to http://stats.distributed.net/rc5-64/...php3?id=115453 stats. I'll stop here and see if anyone is interested in pursuing this. I sure hope so. :) Cheers! Larry "NgtCrwlr" Mingus |
