mailserver etc?

How does vbulletin send emails? Thru sendmail? I would like to use this software on 2 diff servers but each has sendmail in diff location... does that matter? I'm not that knowledgable about php...just learning now.

it uses php's mail function and this is specified in the php.ini and its automatically found by php when you compile php.
