where is the offline/online user hack for the postbit info?

can someone tell me where this hack is, it displays an icon to tell you if that user is online or offline and it goes in the postbit template....

Its there by default. No hacking needed.

how can i get the offline/online status to be displayed as words and not an image? cause i want to place this in my getinfo template... help
