Auto Delete (Prune) Posts

Has anyone come up with a hack to auto delete posts (auto prune) based on time? ie. after 30 days, the post is deleted automatically. I would like this for classified ads. Any hackers want to take this on?

Thanks! ;)

guess that would cut down on database load

Yep, and seriously cut down on admin maintenance!

I will work on this for you after I finish my current hack

Would it be possible to have this so when it deletes the post the total forum post and thread count stays the same instead of subtracting the posts it deletes from it?

Was this hack ever made? It'd be nice to have.

I have a test forum for users to test their sigs and such and I'd like to be able to auto prune it every XX days (probably around 15.) :)

i'd say you should wait for vb3, the new vbcron functions can solve this without hacking

hmmm, with 30 something mods added, 9 different template styles, and alot of minor improvements done by myself I'm not sure if I'll upgrade to 3.0 or not. We'll see....

I'd still like to have something like this now, instead of waiting until next June for a stable version of vB3. :)

Any news on this? I do not know how to accomplish this even in version 4.x

I want to automatically hard delete:
Posts that have been soft deleted after 30 days.
Same thing with Threads (that do not have any posts).
But I do NOT want to delete threads or posts that are not already soft deleted.

I found this, but it does not seem to be the same:
