can't figure it out.....

I am trying to figure out how to change the way the calendar displays birthdays from a list of names and ages to just show the total maount of birthdays for that day and have the total become a link that changes to view the names

I have seen it in action but haven't been able to determine what the call should be i.e. "$bd_total" or something like that

Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

I just found the template with that exact information in it but still can't figure how to call it. The template is called calendar_hasbirthday
