This May Be A Stupid Question, But....:

Will I lose all of my installed hacks upon the upgrade from 2.2.4 to 2.2.5 (when it becomes a full version)? I really don't want this to happen. If so, is there a way to keep them...?

Yes. The only way to keep them is to do a diff on the files to compare what changed, and then edit your files manually and run the upgrade scripts.
