Help Wanted: Board upgrade and Hack Installs...

Hi There,

I'm not a code monkey, so I need someone to help me out with this. I need someone to do the following:

1. Optimize Board so CPU usage is minimized on the server (it is a virtual server)
2. Make the board spider properly to search engines.
3. Upgrade the board to the latest version of VB (2.24 from 2.21) while retaining existing modifications.
4. Suggestions?

Send me an email to webmaster@futurelooks.com with your suggestions and a cost. I just want to make things a bit nicer for our users.

board is located at: http://www.futurelooksforums.com

Thanks In Advance!

If I were you I'd wait for those things (well, maybe except for 1) and get a designer to create a new design for your forum. It will give you an immediate result when it comes to popularity. :)

Thanks for the reply Firefly!

We actually have a new template being designed for it right now to kind of mirror the look of our main site: http://www.futurelooks.com

However, I would like to get the board spidering properly, and get the CPU cycles down. Since I'm hearing that 3.0 is so close now, I think I'll wait till it is out before the board gets an upgrade. If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess :D

Ahh ok, then I take my comment about the design back. Nice layout you got there. :)

Thanks Firefly!

We've just uploaded the header for the new forum. Check it out!

Still haven't heard from anyone about getting our forum search engine friendly though :disappointed:

Yup looks good. :) Check out the Full Releases forum, there are at least 2 hacks that make your forum spider friendly, one of them is by overgrow.

Firewire 04-01-2002 02:13 AM

Well, it looks like I'm not as stupid as I look :D

I added some really nice little hacks that the users really liked. Nothing major yet.

Overgrow has also gotten a hold of me so I will be asking him to do a couple things once I narrow down what they will be.

Is it me or is there a "Gap" on the right hand side of the board when you bring it up? I can't seem to get rid of it. It is totally annoying me.

Nope looks good for me.
