Partial Moderation
 

Hi!
Could anyone tell me if there is a hack,
to enable moderation in general
( guests and registrated users can post but moderated ),
but to set some users to "avoid" moderation ?
( or even better to add to "avoid moderation"-group )

Sure the easiest way would be make them moderators,
but i dont want to give these users any mod. permissions,
and they should not waste thier time approving
thier own posts anyway...

You know, i'm not "licensed", i have not buyed yet,
first i need to know if there is a way to enable patial moderaion
( without to write my own program code, because of lack of PHP knowledge )

Sorry, I forgot that I sent you over here. (In my defense I read hundreds and hundreds of messages every day and can't remember every single one!)

We get a lot of vB pirates on these forums trying to get access to hacks. It would have been clearer if you had stated up front that you are looking to purchase vB and wanted to know if this hack existed.

Burns: I can make that hack for you if you want, that certain usergroups get their posts moderated while others don't. :)

It would be great !

I'm looking since december for a forum software
with patial moderation available and quite efficient
moderation itself.
iB has partial moderation but moderation itself is just pain
( and i would even preffer to pay for the software i use,
so i can expect better support,
and don't need to ask myself what is going to happen in the future... )

So i will buy vB license asap and then post again in this thread.

I just wonder why no other forum admins
need partial moderation...
Even in RL most ppl. i talked to like the idea, but in forum software forums
i'm lucky if one poster support the idea, usually i get not a single reply :(

I would really appreciate any help regarding partial moderation
( like the hack, you said, you can make ),
since i can only open the board for public
( invite friends etc. )
if the permissions schema is set up propertly

I found a hack that looks like what i need,
but i'm not sure:

(It's the 3rd of 3 modifications)

1. There seems to be a problem with newer versions ( 2.2.3 ),
what i can see at the end of the thread, site 4
2. There is a problem with users changing thier emails
( sites 3-4 )
3. I need at least 2 groups under moderation,
not only "New users" but also "Not logged/Not registered"
4. I dont have a clue how to find out the ID of the group ;)
