Use VB Member Login for non vb website
Okay I am sure someone must have done this but I have searched and searched and can not find it on the board.
I am looking for a hack that will allow me to use the VBulletin membership database for my web site membership. I want to be able to password protect non vbulletin pages using the vbulletin membership (userid and passwords). idealy members would enter their password on a non vbulletin page and then based on whether they have an account with my vbulletin forum they would be forwarded to the members only website which also contains the VBulletin forums. If any one knows of such a script please let me know. Thanks Greg |
I've done that a fair amount - there is actually a hack for it (two really, one requires a login, the other uses an authentication script.)
The first hack is https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=23524 And an add-on at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=30642 It's amazing what you can do with these - I've got a login form on the homepage, and depending on your usergroup, the homepage is different for each group after they login. For the built-in authentication, do a search for authvb.php |
Can they run on a windows 2000 server with IIS 5.0 or do I need to use apache on a unix box.

Um, dunno!
I use them as includes in .shtml on Linux/Apache - maybe someone else will be able to tell you. |
