cost of running vB ??
 
sup vB.org community !! i know i've had another thread asking for an idea for my vB board.. but i'd really like to know as much as i can before purchasing vB and installing it... so how much does it cost you to run vB ? like, i mean for your webhost.. including: the price, the bandwidth, and the space needed ?

I pay $30 / month for 500mb and 12GB of bandwidth on a shared server. I host my main site and the forums on that though with gzip and mod_gzip on for all.
The space is not really for the board its for the mysql database the mysql files are about 5mb once i get all the images but my database is sitting just over 30mb but i use my attachments as files hack to reduce size.

I think this is expensive.

umm no its not......
I pay about 45 dollars a month!, but that is also with the main site!

<a href="http://www.site5.com" target="_blank">www.site5.com</a> has a similar package -- but I think you get more bandwidth, and the price is about $20 if you pay annually. I was with them for about a year -- the only reason I left was because my site grew too much!
