Last Visit Time -- All Wrong
How does the "lastvisit" field in the user's profile work? I find it doesn't update reliably...the last visit is at times longer ago than the user's last POST. :D
|
The 'last visit' is actually the 'second-to-last' visit. The 'last activity' is the real last visit.
Don't ask! I didn't get it either, but that's the way it works. |
Hmmm. Frustrating; what do I have to do to get it to work properly? EDIT: nevermind, I'll figure it out. I'll be good for me. :D
|
It ALREADY works properly! It's how it's supposed to work. Last Activity is the last time the user was on your board, while Last Visit the is the second to last (as Steve said) he was on your board.
The wording is troublesome I guess but don't let that bother you. |
Yeah, I got the functionality I was looking for. I suppose I don't understand the idea behind the last visist field; why would anyone care about the second-to-last visit? BTW: when I said "work properly," I was basically referring to the script I was working on. :)
|
It's designed that way for the post-marking feature (read/unread). While last activity is more dynamic and updates on every page load, last visit only updates on a user's visit (thus its name).
|
Hmmm, I see. Well, regardless, what I was working on works just fine now....so gracias to both. :)
