Im not sure were to post this, so...
 
When I click "Install this hack" I am just sent to the homepage. Am i missing something?

The "Install this hack" button only adds the hack to your control panel. You still have to download the hac and follow the instructions for it to work.

yeah, sorry, I know that, but when I click "install" it isn't added to the amount of installed hacks in my profile, the number of users on the hack isn't updated and it isn't listed in my CP.

the Install button is to receive updates about that hack and create some stats to see how popular it is. let see, if the author post a change, all he have to do is send a quick note and everyone who installed that hack will receive an email with the update. genious idea huh? ;)

you still have to perform the author's install procedure...

yeah, sorry, i know all this. But It wont work! Clicking the "install" link takes me to the vB.org home page. No update emails, no stats!

it's supposed to do this. you will get updates only when the author post them. this does not mean you will get updated when someone post a new post to that thread. if that is what you want, use "Receive updates to this thread" feature, located at the bottom of each thread page.

but shouldn't the hack be listed in my CP, and the number of hacks installed be more then one, and the "amount of people who have this hack installed" in include my name?

yes. click on Installed Hacks in your user cp. your name will not be shown in the list because is you who view it.. (i think). you should ask firefly for more details on this.

Under the heading of "installed hacks" it says

There have been no new posts in the last 30 days to your installed hacks.

even though I have clicked "install" on like 10 hacks...

so that means nobody posted anything to your installed hack threads.. it says the same for me to. it must be a bug.. ;)
well firefly reads everything on this board.. so he will fix it as soon as he have time or.. as soon as he's done with the icecream bucket.. :D
