Upload mp3 with rating system

Hi,

My wish is to have a hack where my board users can upload their own created music.

Users who download the music can rate the song and give comment.

It sounds verry complicated or some will say why not use the attachment and so on. This is not what i want.

A little example from what i want can be found on my board.
The page is in dutch but you can see a bit what i mean. I just need it in vbulletin and in a database.

http://www.twin-x.com/cgi-bin/filebo...category=Songs here is the **** i use now. (which i do not like)

http://synthforum.twin-x.com is my board.

Thx in advance

Well... I can say I would take time but only a new table or two and some coding... but do you have the bandwidth for it?

Twinxy 03-05-2002 05:58 PM

Yes i have. The old system is working fine with it. I have no more than 3.6 GB a month and server is on T1 lease line.

how many members do you have, 3.8gb is not a lot if you expect a lot of people posting music.

Well my forum is for synthesizers users only. And only home made music postings are allowed. I have about 200 users and approx 80 of them download the music.

We give comment on how to improve a song or how to use the instruments. This by rating and comments.

But the songs need to be uploaded from the forum and the songs need to be in one central location where it can be downloaded from.

If the MP3s are small it would work I believe.

Is'nt it possible to put the songs to a directory then?
Because if they go into mysql my host will get pissed :D .
I have 1GB room for the mp3 on the server but not on the mysql.
