Newbie hack question (like a pre-sale question)

Hello world.
Congratulations for this forum.
I discovered the power and flexbility of this software, and I'm going to love it.....
I have an idea in my mind but is not so simple to type it....
mhhh.....let's try.

Actually I'm planning a php portal, oriented to customer services.
It should have a strong forum, (Vbulletin naturally with all the features), but also a personal account page, where users can:

- view and change the account type User- Supporter-etc.- (and so use their credit card for payments or donations);

- track some personal informations sent from administrator (but just not private messages), print and download it.

So my needs is to have every user, making just one registration from the home page and get just one user and pssw to use the forum or to log into the personal account, that must be something like the control panel of this board.

They make the registration just to enjoy the service offered so, in this way, they also have the freedom to post and partecipate the community.

So where I start from?

Thanks in advance and sorry if my questions are obvious.

You might want to ask this question at vbulletin.com in the pre-sales forum. They might have some better suggestions for what your trying to accomplish.

My suggestion is to check out php front end portals and add on modules to see if any meet your overall needs. www.phportals.com is one that works very with vb as its backend.

Thanks a lot RoS.
It was my first idea.

But if i try to ask for an hack at Vb presales questions they will sent directly here!

I also visited phpportals, and a lot of nuke/post-nuke related sites, but is my opinion that nothing is better than here to discuss about VB hacks. (but only if you have a Vb customer code :( )

My starting point is that I'm sure that i wont a portal that runs around a powerfull Vb forum, so I'm looking how to better integrate it into the user page, that is important too.

I'm a newbie in php programming , coming from 100% Html; so understand that this could be not a simple hack.

Just need a guru that tell me simply "It could be possible" or "forgot that "

:)
