I am attempting to make a MOTD graphic hack, similiar to the birthday hack, but I have a question. How does this bit of code work?

$post[birthday]

Where does it find the birthday section? I looked in functions.php and didn't see anything like that.

Any tips?

Probably in functions.php's getpostbit() function.
