Hi,
I posted this on the regular vB board, but since my board is hacked a bit, I thought I would post here too. I enabled Access Masks in the Options menu and then configured my new forum to be "Private" and the link is still there. I read the description of this option and it says that this forum will be "invisible" to everyone but Moderators and Admins. This button does limit access correctly, but unfortunately, the link itself is still there and visible by every user group. Am I doing something wrong or is the link always going to be there but with restricted access in place? My understanding of "invisible" is not restricted access alone, but a hidden link with restricted access. http://www.dissolution.com/vbulletin/index.php The "Test" forum is marked private but the link appears for everyone. * Once I get this working, I want my custom forum's LINK to be invisible to everyone but a custom User Group "Engineer" and "Admins". I want to exclude everyone else including Mods and Super Mods. I do not see a radio button in the User Group Masks that hides the link. I only see viewing / posting limitations. Thanks! |
Turn on the option to hide private forums in your main options.

Thanks! I hope they consolidate all of these options screens in the next version.

That's done automatically if you set the forum to be private.
