The current quote function is to add a [ QUOTE ] above & below the original message. Thus, there would be 2 kinds of REPLY function. The 1st one is Reply w/o Quote, and the other is Reply w/ Qoute. I think it might be enhanced like this:
Put the original message in a hidden field and add a prefix (in the example below, it's a '>' symbol) that the admin pre-config in their vB control panel. <input type="hidden" name="hide" value="<font color=$quotecolor $username's post in $postdate $posttime mentioned:> Original message </font>"> Note that there is a $quotecolor for the admin to decide the color for a quoted message. And here's a button for user to decide to quote or not. If one need to quote from the original message, then he could press the following button: <INPUT type="button" name="quote" value="Quote from original message" onClick="this.form.body.value=this.form.hide.value + this.form.body.value;"> I don't know much about PHP. This is just an idea. Is there anyone interested and will do a hack? |
