i have setup a user group called suspend. this group is limited to only a suspend forum where they can explain their action if they want back into the rest of the forums. didn't want to ban someone when maybe a warning is needed. long story but it suits my site

i want to let the mods be able to move a member into the suspend category. since they can ban someone with a single click in the mod control panel i figured someone would be able to just modify the ban portion of the /forums/mod/user.php to allow the mods to move that person to the suspend user group.

i figured there might be a few people that would be interested in a hack like this. shouldn't be very hard, actually just have to edit the ban user code a little and add a link in the /forums/mod/index.php to point to the suspend portion. well the idea is there i hope someone can go with it

If you don't need te actual ban gorup you can change it's permissions...

Otherwise jsut look in the mod cp for a fiel. Search for something like begin ban. JUst copy over the whole code but change the usergroup name from Banned By Moderators to suspended. Then adda link in indedx.php in mod folder.

This would also be a good idea for a contributing members hack.. You could easily transfer members to the usergroup that contains special abilities... :up:
