I am looking for this hack. Can somebody point me in the right direction? This hack would be very useful to my forum and my moderators as many people feel the need to destroy other peoples work, with spam and crap posts. I am not always around and I would like to give my moderators (only some moderators if possible) the ability to ban ips so people can't get back on.

If this hack doesn't exist, can somebody let me know what type of work would be involved and if somebody could create it?

I would greatly appreciate anybody that can help me with this much needed hack.

Thanks.

If the user who is causing problems is registering you can use my Mods editing Access Masks hack this allows your mods to ban people from specific forums.
If a user is spamming in one forum, then remove their rights to see, post, and do everything in that forum.

NO no, see they don't care about the forums in the first place, there are there to attack. In the another forum we even found a post that was labeled "Attack Now!" with a link to our forum. We need some serious hacks to block them, they just come and spam up the forums or post lame crap all over the boards, if you just ban their nick, they will reregister, I already have it so you have to have a real email addie and you can't use a duplicated one, but either they have a lot of emails already or they just go create a new one in hotmail. I can't disallow hotmail email, because so many people use it.

I was thinking also, it would really help if I could ban a specific ISP/host. Is that feature built into VB or would I need somebody to hack that too? Some of them don't have static IPs so it makes it really hard, because they can just disconnect and reconnect and are back in stirring up problems for my mods and I.

Please help. :(

You can only ban IP ranges, there is no host lookup system available yet, though it could be possible. Post this Mod editing IP's in the requests forum and I'm sure someone will answer your call for help.
