I'd like to request functions.php be split into:

functions.php
functions2.php

because the code seems to be too log and my editors end up putting unnesicary code in to shorten it, I don't know but its happened with me for the following editors:

NotePad (cant even edit on this, file too long)
WordPad (totally screwy)
Microsoft Word (Adds unnesicary spaces)
PHPEd (same as above)
UltraEdit Freeware (same as above)

Maybe that can be an optional addon? anyway thanx for the recognition :noid:

Have you tried EditPlus? It's pretty good with it all. :)

i have it running fine on PHPEd thats what i do all my coding on, and 2.2.2 is only a bug fix release, so i doubt many people with hacks will upgrade to it.

I know i'll probably just look at the changes between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 and apply the changes.

EditPlus is what I use :)

functions.php splitting is too major to include in vB 2.2.2, but something will be done about it's huge size in v3. I'm not yet at liberty to say what though :)

yeah thats it, get us intrested in v3 again and then you stop ;)

I wanna see a test board, or the source :p

From my experience, you would break the functions into groups and put them into different library files. This can speed up processing time as most pages will not require all library files. (similar to C header files, or Visual Basic modules)
