I just bought the full license to vB about a week ago. I had to switch hosts b/c my last host wouldn't even parse php files (had to run them as CGI files instead )

Anyways I got the board setup but I would really like to heavily MOD it and make look as awesome as alot of these boards I've seen lately.

Couple questions...

- Is there anyway to Import a member list from YABB Board (my old board is Yabb? We have alot of members I would really like to move to the new board without all having to re-register).

- What is a Port Bit? I see everyone talking about them, but still have failed to understand what they are.

- Our Mods pretty easy to install?

- Lastely I know this is a typical question that most people get annoyed at. But would anyone consider helping me install some mods or help me fool with the template some. This is for a Huge Gaming Guild so I can't offer any cash or I would. This is just a polite question seeing if anyone would lend a hand.

Thanks Again

Hi, I'm pretty new at this as well but:

*I dont think there is a importer for yabb :(
Quote:

(from vbulletin.com)We're currently offering a set of scripts that will allow you to import posts, threads and users from the following programs: Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 5, Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 6, Infopop UBBThreads 5.4 (formely wwwthreads), vBulletin Lite, Infopop OpenTopic, ezboard (posts only, not members for ezboard).
*A postbit, I believe, is a template file in the admin section of the site, its the file vbulletin uses when doing certain things e.g. a new post

*I presume you mean hacks, most are pretty easy to install as long as you understand how to edit files through the admin panel and edit .php files using notepad. Most hacks are step-by-step and tell you exactly what to add

*If you need some help I'll try :pleased: send me a private message
