I edit a site in which we try to protect the identities of registered members except when they actually post messages (we insist that they use their real names and e-mail addresses). Right now, this is easy to do except that the name of the most recent registrant is displayed on the Index page in a "welcome to our newest member" sentence.
It seems to me that it should be possible to do this by editing the index.php file. Can anyone tell me, fairly precisely, what changes to make? I'd like everything else to continue to operate just the way it does. Thanks, Steve Price |
No hack is required. Just edit the 'forumhome' template and remove this sentence.
