This makes sure your attachments are not cached anywhere when the user first downloads them. After the user has downloaded an attachment, it will probably get cached somewhere, which is good, UNTIL the attachment has been modified, and then it will be loaded directly from vBulletin again, instead of the cache.

It integrates smoothly with the attachment viewer hack, written by FireFly, if you have it installed.

I wrote it after desperately trying to download a fixed version of a hack that someone wrote here, and used the same attachment name. I always got a cached version of the bad hack... Therefore, I think it would be great to apply it here.

// Edit: Please notice the new version.

I have not really had a problem such as you speak, but in that case, this hack would be much needed. I may install the hack tonight and see how all goes :)

(I will try to post back tomorrow if I have time, I have been in and out all week)

Great hack, Tommy. Now we need one to bump you up to Senior Member.:D

Anyone with 7 excellent hacks deserves some recognition! Thank you!

Tommy Boy 01-16-2002 06:13 PM

YAY!! :D

I'm flattered you installed all my hacks (or at least most of them). I'm sorry I didn't release any new hacks lately, it's because I'm directing my energy back to my own site right now, but in a week or two I may be able to continue my vB improvement project, and I already have some neat ideas!

No apologies necessary.

Best of luck and I'm sure there are plenty anxiously awaiting your "ideas"! :D

Yes you are great h4x0r! Keep it up!

Thanks Tommy, this is great.

Just one suggestion, you should probably also update editpost.php cause there is also a link on the edit post page that needs to be patched.
