I have a consumer watch area, which is helpful for the industry I represent, but it is open to people/customers abusing their freedom of speech. If someone lies about a company being bad for the sake of getting what they want, it doesn't help consumers, just that person, and affects a company.

I would like to be able to require before each post in that particular forum, the person agree to some particular terms (sorta like the agreement when registering, but different text). I need people to rethink the approach they are taking when posting remarks against any business in this case.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll see what I can do, what version of vBulletin are you using?

cobradude 12-17-2001 11:37 PM

You rock! I'm using 2.0...I need to upgrade, but I have a bunch of hacks installed, so....

damicatz 12-17-2001 11:40 PM

If your using 2.0 you should upgrade ASAP,

2.0 has a security hole that could allow people to hack your board.

Doing it tonight. Thanks for prodding me. :)

cobradude 12-19-2001 04:24 AM

I'm upgraded now to the latest now.

damicatz, are you finding this is a relatively simple or complicated hack?

Completely willing to help you test, but you don't want my coding skills involved! :D

damicatz 12-19-2001 05:47 PM

This should be a fairly simple hack,

So far I've got it planned.
Oh btw where do you want it to display the agreement? Do you want the agreement to be on the posting screen where you type your message or show it before you get to the posting screen?

cobradude 12-20-2001 12:27 AM

Prefer to have them hit a button to accept the agreement and then move to the posting screen.

Well I completed this hack its was simple but its not exactly what you wanted its not in the particular forum its in everyforum

lol i read the request wrong lmao
But hey every forum can be a updated version of this besides this is my 1st hack :) Posting it now
