Xenforo vs IPS

Hi,

I am looking for a modern Forum Software and had a closer look at any software around.

cant really decide if i should use xenforo or ips, i like both.
what would you choose and why?

I would choose not to discuss their software on a vBulletin forum.

If you were splicing (combining) two softwares such as Wordpress with vBulletin or any other software WITH vBulletin then many of our members would be up for discussions about which they think is better.

I like Xenforo and IPS about the same, haven't really had issues with either and IPS support is top-notch hands down in my book but we really prefer to discuss vBulletin software OR for example if you were integrating vBulletin with Wordpress or using the Wordpress CMS as your front page and retaining your vBulletin forum as actual forums (versus using something like BBPress etc) then you would have quite a few on here lighting up the thread .

If however we're in the community lounge where we normally like to leave out vBulletin discussions then why would we want to discuss yet another software which isn't even related to anything vBulletin on the official modification site for vBulletin? Who does that? Evil Mutant Clowns from Outer Space, that's who!

I've tried a xenforo from a demo request. Looks pretty obvious that they blatantly stole sections from the admin cp & rearranged them, many of the same options can almost be found word for word. Sure you may find some options under different menus but many from vbulletin are still there and yet some options have been renamed or moved completely such as their "rebuild caches" tab which is basically bassed off of vbulletins "general update tools".

Long story short there was a lawsuit long ago, it's all out in the open and public record so no need to discuss this in 2019 as it's long passed.

Each one has its advantages, I can not tell all details which one is better but I will you a real example on 2 my forums that using vBulletin (vB4) and Xenforo (XF2)

https://www.webmastersun.com vB4x
https://forumweb.hosting Xf2

What do you think? according to you, which forum will work better for you? why?
For me, I can make any forum platform better than others but it needs to have enough my conditions such as functions/features that I wanted though it is vbulletin, xenforo or ips. :)
