New Posts List Appearance

My site running vBulletin 4.2.5 was upgraded today...and somehow a setting got changed.

Previously if you click on the "New Posts" link on the home page...you then get a page with all of the new posts listed...and the thread titles were in a bolded font.

If you click on one of these new posts to read them...then use the back button to get back to the new posts list...the title of the thread that was just read goes from a bolded font to a non-bolded font.

Now (after the update)...when you return to the new posts list...the thread that was just read remains bolded. Can someone tell me if & where the vBulletin setting is for this please?

Thanks

You were most likely using a cookie based thread read system, and with vB 4.2.5 that was discontinued in favor of the database based thread read system. Overall, the database based system is superior in every way I know of.

Hello Mark...thanks for the reply.

What I described in post 1 was working fine with 4.2.5 previously. When I installed vBulletin suite yesterday...it stopped working. Was hoping it was some sort of setting.

Is there possibilty a plug-in for this?

Thanks

What you describe sounds like something that was changed with vB 4.2.5. :)

As mentioned...24 hours ago this feature was working fine with 4.2.5 before I installed 4.2.5 suite.:)

Mark, thanks for this mod - very nice!

Any tips how I could filter a user out? I reply to every post so I would like to filter myself (user 1) out if possible, and I don't mind making edits to the source if you can give me a tip where to make the edit :-)
