Smilie Trouble on side menus

Hey guys, Ran into a bug, and for the life of me I can't get it worked out. Smilies are not working in the side menus. They work fine in forum post. Just not on the CMS Articles preview and New Forum Post previews. Any ideas ?

I don't think smilies and BBCodes are parsed in the default forum blocks.
