HPPT error 500

I am getting this error from a few days on registration page of my forums,
all the files are in place and no modification was done.

Are you using any captcha plugins downloaded from here? Try and disable them.
If that doesn't work, disable all of your plugins one by one until the error is gone.

Also check the error logs of your webserver and PHP.
