User login weirdness after host change

So, we moved hosts, but the url is the same.
Was running 4.2.3 on the old host, downloaded 4.2.5 from vBulletin and uploaded it to the new host. Same folder layout as the old host, same domain name.
Updated config.php with database settings
Ran the update on the database.
Deleted /install
As administrator, I can log into the admincp and the forum.
If I type in a "bogus" username and password, I get no error page or login page, it just refreshes the page to the non logged-in forum home page.

I checked cookies settings in admincp, tried many suggestions I saw on the web, like clearing cookies in the browser, turning on non-cached headers (I think), disabled plugins, etc. So far nothing seems to fix it.

You can see it yourself by going to the forum and trying a login with a bogus name and password. http://www.mindplacesupport.com/forum

Thank you for any and all help - Can't seem to figure this one out!

What PHP version are you running on your forum now?
Any errors in the PHP error log?

Thank you for your reply, Dave.

php is 5.6.3
mySQL is 5.6.35

I'll check the log (if I can find it) and get back to you.

I checked your forum and noticed something odd, when I access the forum I get redirected to your non-www version but throughout the forum you make use of the www version, your cookie setting is also set to the non-www version with no wildcard to accept the www-version.

Double check your URL and cookie settings.

Dave, you're a genius! I think that might be the problem.

The old host used http://www.mindplacesupport.com/forum and the new site is at http://mindplacesupport.com/forum. I didn't even notice!

Changing the base URL in my settings has brought back the "Invalid Username or Password" dialog.

I'll try that for a bit and see if that fixes the problem.

Thank you again!
