seems like members on my forum are posting nonsense stuff to get their post counts up. Can anyone come up with a hack that instead of having post counts to have rates?

on my forums i removed the post count from the postbit template... this way a user's post count is not displayed under their name in a thread. this works well for getting rid of "beef your post count" disease. :D

jakeman: thats what i had to do.

Of course, the smarter users found a way around this by searching by username, and seeing their postcount that way.

but just removing it from plain sight seemed to help enough to keep stupid posts down..

yup, remove the post in postbit template seems like the easiest way to reduce (not stop) the postwhores. Some of my postwhores still click to their profile to see how many posts, but obviously it reduced lots of nonsense posts.
