hey man u do the great work ~~
a nice hack ~~ just like u say easy way to install~~ |
This adds a query for each forum you have on your board, so expect the load to go up in a surprising way.
There are lots of ways to accomplish this hack, most of them will kill your server. |

So thats why vb wont empliment it on the vb? :p understandible.. lol What would be the least damageing way you know of if you dont mind...? -Syphin |
I think a hack by PPN that adds a table field, for the last title.
That's the best way. The easy way isn't always the best way. Also there is a rather easy one, pretty new as well, but it does use a bit more resources. |
Aight thnx... ^^ Ive been using the one by PPN sense he released it... So, guess ill stick with it... Thnx.. :p

yes,I think PPN's hack is a best way to sever.
But It's have some problems to be solved. and I think It's should edit postings.php too to get a correct last title for a addon. It's heavy edit the files and sql. |
postings.php doesn't need to be edited as after it does editing it runs a function called updateforumcount which is used to update the last poster time, username and number of posts on the forum index page it simply piggy backs on that :)

when the admin or mods edit the subject or move a last thread to a other forum if the thread is a "lastthread",the forum home's "lasttitle" can't be update. |
