I am a member of a couple boards who have set avatars to choose from. The moderators, however, get their own unique moderator that is usually slightly larger than the regular members. However, moderators can't change their own avatar like the admins can.

Is there a hack that can do this? Allow moderators the choice of having a custom av? I don't want to allow the mods into the control panel since this is the only feature I want them to have. I have searched a bit and haven't found it.

:) Is there a kind soul who would like to write such a hack?

Actually, you can implement the stars hack which I have done for my boards. The only user groups that I use stars on is mods, supermods and admin. I made a graphic for the moderators, one for supermods and one for admins at my boards. I select what goes under their name by modifying the postbit template to include the stars.

This way, I allow all of my members to include a custom avatar, as well as giving mods the freedom to do the same. Mods are easily distinguished by the graphic located directly under their name....

I kinda understand what you are saying, but what's your site so I can see what you mean? ((if you don't mind)) ;)

If however you would prefer for the admin and moderators to be able to specify a custom avatar whether or not they have the required amount of posts to do so use this.
